4 Mondays, March 31 - April 28, 6:30-8:30 pm Beyond Beginner Watercolor Taught by Karen Berstler, Ages 18+ $88 Members / $96 non-members This class is for students who have taken the Beginner Watercolor session or already have some experience with watercolor painting. We will explore the use of light and shadow and color more fully. Each session will have exercises in the different design concepts and a small example will be completed. See registration link for supply list, or ask at Jerry’s Artarama. Basic Supply List:: • Paper: Watercolor block, 140 lb. cold press 100% cotton, 9”x12”. Two brands I recommend are Legion Stonehenge, and New York Central (They have a medium level price point). Of course, you can use any brand that you choose, as long as those basic criteria are met • Brushes: Short handled brushes- a 1 inch flat brush, no. 10 round, and no. 6 round. There are many brands to choose from, synthetic as well as natural hair. Choose brushes that are specific to watercolor. • Paint: Turner brand 15 ml tube watercolor paints. Pyrrole Red, Phthalo Blue(Red Shade), Permanent Yellow, Hooker’s Green, Burnt Sienna, and Dioxazine Violet. • Paint Palette: Something simple that has at least 7 wells for color, and a flat space for mixing • Graphite paper • Kneaded eraser Other Accessories: • Roll of paper towels • tissues • Pencil • Source for clean water nearby • Palette knife (if already own), or a butter knife • Hair dryer Jerry's Artarama in Newark also has this supply list on file, and will give you a discount.
