Card Weaving (also known as tablet weaving) allows weavers to work and play with color and design without having to invest in a lot of equipment. It uses cards to organize threads, so that students can weave a tape - a long thin band - which could be used for things like bookmarks, decorations on clothing or ukulele straps! No experience necessary! The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Cathy has been doing been various textile handwork - sewing, weaving, spinning, bobbin lace, needlework - for most of her life. She had her first experiences with spinning and weaving at the age of eight. One of her greatest joys is teaching others and sharing her knowledge.
