Collage is a dynamic and expressive art form that utilizes everyday, affordable materials. In this interactive three-session workshop, students will explore and practice essential collage techniques. Each session workshop will begin with a mini art history lesson - introducing participants to influential collage artists, both historical and contemporary. The majority of class time will be dedicated to creating an in-class collage project. Additionally, students will receive a weekly handout summarizing key takeaways from the session and providing guidance for an at-home collage project to further their practice. At the end of the course students will have created three original collages to take home and enjoy. This is a great mini course for a first-time college artist Students provide sharp scissors, craft knife, cutting mat or cardboard, Elmer's Purple glue sticks, 2-3 magazines. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class.
