Mixed Pickleball Ladder League (Skill Level 4.0 and Above)
This 18+ Pickleball League is offered in a 5-week ladder format where players get to play 3-4 games with rotating partners and opponents each week. Each set of games will help determine your rankings for the next week. This is a great format for both socializing and ensuring as much competitive parity as possible during the season. Will take place in the Bob Keefer Center's Multi-Purpose Courts.
FAQ
Week 1: All players will be randomly grouped into 4-player courts (one court may have 5 players). Each player will play a doubles game with every other player on their court as a teammate (round robin). Each player will track their total points scored for the day.
Week 2-5: Each week, court ranking will be based on each player's cumulative points scored vs. total points possible (Percentage of Points or “POP”) averaged across games for all previously played games/weeks. The final rankings will be published after week 5, with the #1 and #2 players crowned the season co-champions. To rank #1 or #2, you must have been present for at least 4 of the 5 weeks, including the season's final week.
Examples of how weekly rankings work:
- Select the top four ranked players and assign them to court #1.
- Select the next four players and assign them to court #2 (then continue to courts 3 and 4 as needed).
Tips:
- Skip any absent players and select the next highest ranked player.
- If there is an odd number of total players, the final court will have 5 players.
Game Format and Scoring:
4 Players: Each player plays a round robin for a total of 3 games. Each game goes to 20 points, with no two-point difference.
5 Players: Each player plays a round robin for a total of 4 games. Each game goes to 15 points, with no two-point difference. One player will sit out each game as a “bye”.
Rules: Standard USA Pickleball Rules apply.
