About this event
Forest (Rainforest/Temperate Deciduous) Forests are home to over 80% of the world’s land-based animals, plants and insects, and can vary in composition from humid rainforests, to the temperate deciduous forest that our home, New York City, is home to. Deepening their explorations of soil composition and climate from session 2, in session 3 campers will dig into the unique terrain and climate of the earth’s forests, paying special attention to the myriad of wildlife (especially insects!) that call this ecosystem home. As part of this session, campers will participate in a hands-on workshop in building their very own forest terrarium!
