Ceramics: Alternative Wheel Throwing - Intermediate/AdvancedInstructor: Pike Randle (Noah Zirpoli)

This class is for those who would like to breakaway from general pottery conventions. I am nota potter, but I do challenge myself with the wheel.During these pottery adventures I have developedmy own take on the process of throwing. If Thrown:Trees, Flowers, and Whistles sound up your alleythen let's hangout and learn from each other.Prerequisite: Students MUST be able to throwa basic cylinder and have basic ceramic skillsbefore taking this class.

Ceramic Arts Materials List

Basic Materials to bring to class:

  • Basic Pottery Tool Kit (sold on Amazon.com or Blick.com)
  • Apron (or wear something that can get dirty)
  • Small plastic bucket
  • Rags
  • Gloves
  • Dust mask

BBAC Ceramics Studio Policies/ProceduresCeramics students are required to follow all department policies and procedures.
BBAC ceramics classes and open studios are intended to introduce and further the education experience, and are not intended to take the place of a personal studio and/or production studio. Students may not bring in work created outside of the BBAC to be bisque-fired, glazed, or glaze-fired at the BBAC.
Ceramics: Open Studio TimeNo Instruction
Open Studio Time is available for students currently registered for a ceramics class (12 hours or more.) Students must follow current safety and health policies while in the BBAC Ceramics Studio.
• There is no instruction during open studios.• Students are required to sign up for open studio times.• There is a 12-student maximum per open studio.• Open Studio begins the 2nd week of classes and ends one week before the last week of the term.• Open Studio Dates will be posted in the studio by Ceramics Technician, Brooke Herzing.
Purchasing Extra Clay at the BBACOne 25 lb. bag of clay is included with your class. BBAC offers the service of purchasing additional clay (one bag at a time) at the beginning of your class time. Extra clay is not sold in open studios.
• Purchase limit is 3, 25 lb. bags per term• Each 25 lb. bag of Wheat Stone is $20• Each 25 lb. bag of Porcelain is $22
