About this event

Campers will create three different slimes daily inspired by Disney characters! Explore the science behind how to make slime with Mrs. Kimmel. Making slime is a great way to introduce the concepts of changes in states of matter (from a liquid to a solid), demonstrate the process of cross-linking long chains of molecules, and explore the science of polymers. How does the slime feel? How do the stickiness and stretchiness change when you work it for a while? Would you say the slime is a liquid or is it more like a solid? What is a Non-Newtonian fluid? Explore thermochromic and glow-in-the-dark dyes, mica powders, clay, sand, and all the different materials added to different types of slime. There is no on-campus option for Friday. To participate in camp on Friday, you must select the field trip option for this week.
