Help improve a forest preserve prairie or woodland by collecting seeds or removing nonnative plants. Ages 8 and up; under 18 with an adult. Free. To register by phone instead, call 630-206-9630 at least five days in advance (10 days by phone for groups of five or more).
This workday is at Churchill Woods Forest Preserve. After you register you'll receive an email with a link to a PDF with important workday instructions and a map. Please read everything carefully before attending. If you don't receive this email, contact the Forest Preserve District at 630-206-9630 or nrvolunteer@dupageforest.org.Volunteers under 18 cannot attend the workday alone. Minimally, there must be one adult for every two children ages 8-10, one adult for every eight children ages 11 to 13 and one adult for every 10 teens ages 14 to 17. (High school students are encouraged to volunteer in groups of two or more.) Volunteer workdays cannot be applied to court-ordered community service. For these types of projects call the Forest Preserve District's Human Resources department at 630-933-7682. Please note that Forest Preserve District mask requirements and recommendations align with current Illinois guidelines. Please stay home if you are sick, feeling any symptoms of illness, have been exposed to, or live with someone who is sick.
