We are pleased to be able to offer a special version of the ChoirKids program at our Langford Westhills location. ChoirKids Plus! is a non-auditioned program for children ages 8 - 12 (Elementary and Junior Middle school ages). As a sponsored program, ChoirKids Plus! is offered tuition free for participants, and provides an in-depth learning experience for groups of up to 16 children. ChoirKids Plus! includes the use of a custom choir booklet (Choir For Fun) written by the choir director Anna Lyman (A small $20 Materials fee applies at time of registration).

Children explore singing traditional and popular songs in different languages, and learn about singing in parts, harmonizing, rhythm, pitch and about healthy singing. Participants will be invited to participate in the large end-of-year ChoirKids concert held in the Alix Goolden Performance Hall at the Victoria Conservatory of Music's main location in Victoria. For this event, almost 200 students come together with their families to celebrate ChoirKids.

About the ChoirKids program in schools: ChoirKids is a tuition-free non-auditioned choir program offered through the Victoria Conservatory’s Music Outreach program in selected local Victoria Elementary schools. Since 2008, the program has been taking place in selected local Elementary schools during the regular school year, either during the lunch period or after school, with choir groups of between 40 and 50 children. The program continues to exist thanks to the generous ongoing support of the program’s founders, the Arbutus Singers, a local adult mixed choir, and also many individual supporters.

If you would like to support us in offering the ChoirKids program and other community music initiatives, you can add a donation during the registration process. All donations of $20 or more all eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

New students: Use the Library entrance and take the elevator to the second floor. Please note there is additional parkade parking on the north end of the building with access to the Victoria Conservatory of Music via the elevator.
