Description

The Victoria Conservatory of Music is thrilled to offer Strings for Beginners, a group class for beginner string players at our Westhills location. Designed for children ages 6 to 11 who are new to the violin, viola, or cello, this fun and interactive class provides a supportive environment where students build a strong musical foundation and explore the joy of making music!

Through weekly group lessons, students will develop posture, basic technique, rhythm, note-reading, and ensemble playing skills. By the end of the year, they will be able to play some of their favourite tunes—gaining confidence in their musical progress. Led by Emma Reader-Lee, the class also fosters musical curiosity and provides performance opportunities.
To ensure steady progress and a rewarding ensemble experience, students are expected to commit to the full year of instruction (30 sessions from October to June).
