About this event
This is the culinary portion of a two class series. Carve a slab of clay to create the perfect surface for rolling and texturing handmade pasta. Also known as a pasta board, Jacey DePriest will guide students through the process of creating a piece of functional art for your kitchen. This class is great for beginners and those with experience working with clay. After a short break, students are invited back to learn how to create handmade pasta dough from instructor, Trang Pham. In this class, we will learn how to use a pasta board to make two types of fresh pastas: potato gnocchi and orechiette. You will also learn to make two Asian inspired pasta dishes: Japanese Gnocchi with Miso Tomato Butter and Nori Spice, and Orecchiette with Asian Pesto, culminating in a group meal. Please note: students may take either the ceramics or culinary class and are encouraged to join us for both! You must register for both classes if you’d like to attend the ceramics and culinary portions.
