About this event
Craft cideries have begun to pop up all over Colorado, producing increasingly complex and hard apple ciders that can be as dry and delicious as champagne. EsoTerra is an internationally award-winning cidery located right here in SW Colorado. Spend an evening with Jared Scott, EsoTerra's cider maker himself, to learn the classic techniques, rich history and science behind these European-style ciders. Learn about the 600+ unique apple varieties that grow in SW Colorado – apples with names like the Maiden's Blush, the Winter Banana, and Jasper Jelly. EsoTerra ciders are exceptional because they are crafted using no coloring, no flavorings and no additives (not even sugar) – just apples, yeast and time. Taste the difference, and experience how well they pair with a variety of delicious bites prepared by chef Elizabeth Philbrick. Bring your appetite and a sense of adventure; you’ll taste at least five different ciders and come away with new knowledge and appreciation for hard ciders. Bottles will be available for purchase at the end of class.
