The City of Santa Monica is Excited to bring you the American Red Cross bleded learning lifeguard training class. This class is for participants 15 years and older who would like to become certified Lifeguard. We will combine in dept on line learning with detailed class instruction, demosntration and practice.
Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR for the professional rescuer, Oxygen Administration and title 22 - First Aid for Public Safety Personnel.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 15 years old
- Able to Swim 300 yards non stop using front crawl and breaststoke
- Able to retrieve 10lb weight from deep water and then swim 20 yards with the weigth using legs only.
- Able to tread water for 2 minutes
This is a blended learning couse all participanst must have access to the internet. Students must attend all classes to pass this course, complete all on-line segments and turn in weekly progress reports. In addition students must also pass all skilss test and score 80% or higher on all written exams.
Class meets on:
Friday January 20, from 5pm-7pm
Saturdays January 28 and February 4, from 9:00am -5:00pm
Sundays January 29 and February 5, from 9:00 - 5:00pm
