NEUROSCIENCE CLUB Activity Organizer: Dr. Allendoerfer Email: karen.allendoerfer@basisindependent.com Dates: Thursdays Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 8–12 Cost: Description: The Neuroscience club provides an opportunity for students to learn about and explore the field of neuroscience, while also preparing for the Society for Neuroscience Brain Bee competition. Specifically, the club will offer a series of lectures and review games regarding various neuroscientific concepts, as well as immersive projects and labs. Rewards (candy) will be used for review games/activities and dissection/lab equipment will be utilized to dissect sheep brains, eyes, and/or spinal cords. Guest speakers may be invited to speak in person or over zoom. We will also run our own in-house Brain Bee in late January in preparation for the Bay Area Brain Bee competition at CSU East Bay in Hayward.
