Activity Organizer: TBD Email: TBD Dates: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 8–12 Cost: $125 Description: Artificial Intelligence is any digital system that has “knowledge” comparable to that of a human being. AI has become a very popular field, and there have been AI applications from predicting the stock market to diagnosing people with diseases. Our club is for students, like us, who are interested in AI and its applications in the field of healthcare. As a part of the club, we will learn about different parts of AI, discuss its ethics, and talk about different applications in the healthcare field, from robotic surgery to drug development, cancer screenings, and so much more. In a more hands-on approach, we will even do group projects on AI with Healthcare, from the club research project that will result in a publication by the end of the year to hands-on coding experience and participation in numerous competitions that will go on throughout the year. Examples would be early participation in-school competitions, the Congressional App Challenge, as well as later participation in the Junior Breakthrough Challenge. As a part of the club, we will also invite industry leaders in the field of AI and healthcare, and maybe even go on field trips to some companies that have systems that relate to AI in Healthcare, if restrictions allow.
