About this event
Working from the live model, students will build upon the foundational, optical tools of drawing by incorporating a conceptual understanding of the anatomy and structure of the figure. Over the course of one week students will complete a carefully rendered figure drawing supplemented by studies from the skeleton, écorché casts, and master drawings. Jon will provide individual critiques, lectures, and will work alongside the students to demonstrate key concepts regarding naturalistic proportion, gesture, form modeling, and important anatomical landmarks. By developing their drawings alongside supplemental anatomical studies, students will improve their ability to observe, understand, and depict the figure. Some prior figure drawing experience highly recommended.
