About this event
Kathryn and Tsultrim will guide artists through a direct portrait painting approach in this five-day workshop. Starting directly on the canvas allows for a more organic composition, stronger color harmonies, and deliberate edge qualities. There will be an emphasis on the following: Capturing a model's likeness to improve one's observation Translating how light interacts with forms to paint convincing three dimensional forms using a full color palette Composition to emphasize holistic view Kathryn and Tsultrim will alternate during each day to provide a thorough demonstration and individualized critiques, giving artists plenty of time to observe the entire process with each instructor, and to practice the techniques discussed. Artists are welcome to draw and transfer to canvas if preferred.
