Mindful Art Lab is a journaling and scrapbooking class to introduce students to emotional self-regulation and creative art therapy. Every student will have a unique story to tell through weekly writing and college prompts. Students will have the opportunity to use special materials other than what’s available in the art studio i.e. double-sided tape tools, washi tape, scrapbook paper, and special stickers. They also may be asked to bring found objects from home like event flyers, movie tickets, and photos to contribute to their colleges. Journals are provided. Some prompts we will be focusing on include “What makes you happy”, “What’s your favorite food”, and “Tell me about a special experience you had with nature”. This class will be a great weekly dose of self-reflection and holistic self-care.
