Join the GPS Lions Club for the annual SHAMROCK 5K and Kids' Dash (10 and under). It's a morning of fitness, fun and a little blarney! Great course in scenic Palm Springs, California with race perfect weather. Run it or walk it - guaranteed good time for all!
Registration includes chip timed 5K, t-shirt, festive hat, pancake breakfast, beer (21+), finish line photo downoad and finisher medal.
Kids' Dash follows the completion of the 5K race (approx. 9:30am).
Event details and schedule
Thank you for registering for the annual GPS LIONS CLUB SHAMROCK 5K to be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 8am - Location: AMERICAN LEGION 400 N. BELARDO, Palm Springs, CA. Packet pick up will be held on Friday, March 10th from 11AM-4PM at Ruth Hardy Park, 700 E. Tamarisk, Palm Springs. You may pick up for friends and relatives. If you cannot pick up on Friday, you may pick up race morning at the race site (AMERICAN LEGION 400 N. BELARDO) beginning at 6:30AM. Breakfast is included with your registration and will be served after you cross the finish line. You will also receive a beer, if you are 21 years or older. We are collecting donations of used prescription eyeglasses that will be given to the needy. Please bring any donations to packet pick-up or race day. Race begins at 8AM and will be followed at approximately 9:30 by our Lil' Leprechaun Dash.
Please, if you are not feeling well, contact us and we will defer your entry to a future race. Practice good hygiene by washing hands, covering your mouth if you cough/sneeze. We will allow you to pick up your age group medals immediately following the posting of results so that you do not have to stay for an awards ceremony.
Your pancake breakfast will be served with the utmost care to insure your safety. By and large, race participants are an above average healthy bunch. Running and walking in the fresh air encourages good health and fitness. This activity is suitable for all healthy individuals. Those with compromised immune systems, respiratory issues or those feeling ill should not participate. To that end, we look forward to your participation on Saturday.
On-line registration closes on Thursday, March 9th at 9am. After that time, you may register in person, at packet pick-up, Friday, March 10th from 11am-4pm at our packet pick-up location, Ruth Hardy Park located at 700 E. Tamarisk, Palm Springs. Look for the white EZ-up tent in the parking lot. You can also pick up and/or register race morning, at the race site at 400 N. Belardo, Palm Springs beginning at 6:30am. Registration at packet pick-up and race morning increases to $45.All 5K participants will receive their t-shirt, bib and festive hat at packet pick-up. Finisher medals will be awarded after you cross the finish line. A free photo download will be taken as you finish and will be available to you within a few days post-race.Age group medals will be awarded 3-deep from 10 and under to 90+. Trophies will be awarded to: Top 3 male, female, challenged, stroller, dog and team categories. These will be available for pick up once the official results are posted, approximately 40 minutes after the first finisher has crossed the line. This race is chip timed by Racewire.A 'Lil Elf Dash (for kids 10 and under) will be held at approximately 9:30. We will make many announcements to alert you.
