Students will be instructed how to play iconic uke songs by artists or featured in films and TV shows that helped spotlight and popularize the ukulele. Featured songs include Israel Kamakawiwo?ole’s iconic rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes,” Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours,” George Harrison’s version of “Between the Devil and The Deep Blue Sea,” “Tonight You Belong to Me” (from the movie, The Jerk) and more. Pre-requisite: Yes, You Can Play the Ukulele, Part 1 (or similar intro class) or be self-taught and be able to play at least 7 chords and transition between them. Bring you soprano, concert, or tenor uke (No baritone ukes, please!) a pick, and a uke capo to class. And if you have a portable music stand or book holder, bring that, too. No loaner instruments are available. Instructor: Jeff Saxon
