Shoemaker, 18+ $66 Member / $72 Non-member Charles Demuth was an American painter working in watercolor and oils, developing a style of painting known as Precisionism. In this course, David will cover the art history, background and biography of Demuth, focusing on his still lifes, landscapes, figure drawings and book illustrations in the Precisionist style. Additional fee of $15 if the student chooses to do the museum walk. - David, researching the life of modernist painter Charles Demuth, premiered a walking tour based on the life and works of the artist. David also scripted a documentary film about Demuth that was produced by Natural Light films. He has published works of his own creative non-fiction, poetry and essays. David co-taught a class on Masden Hartley and Demuth at the Barnes Foundation in 2021.
