Description

The MacPhail Chamber Choir is a unique collaboration between MacPhail Center for Music and the Minnesota Chorale, offering dedicated adult singers the opportunity to rehearse and perform side by side with rostered members of the Minnesota Chorale. In addition to an expert director, experienced section leaders provide guidance and support at weekly rehearsals, fostering a positive, encouraging, and musically enriching environment.
Centered on the joy of choral singing, the choir is committed to developing each singer's musicianship, strengthening vocal and ensemble skills, and building a vibrant community through the shared experience of making music together.

Please Note: An audition is required for any NEW singers who have not previously been part of the group prior to the start of the semester. Please contact Mitra Sadeghpour at sadeghpour.mitra@macphail.org to set up an audition time.
Our auditions are welcoming and low-pressure. They are simply an opportunity for the director to ensure singers have the skills needed to thrive in the Chamber Choir and to help create a positive musical experience for everyone in the ensemble.
Auditions consist of three components:

1. A simple check by the director to establish your range
2. A song of your choice. (It can literally be anything! The point is just to hear you sing.)
3. A prepared excerpt that you will receive when you schedule your assessment.
