For returning renters who want to switch racks - This switch racks option is for those who already have racks. This will allow current rack holders to switch racks with two types of options:· You may switch racks within the same site (Example: If you`re on a top rack and want to try and switch to a lower rack). You are guaranteed a rack within your same rack site, but you may lose the specific rack you`re currently on.
You may switch racks to a different site (Example: If you`re on Lake Nokomis and want to move to Lake Harriet). You are guaranteed a rack somewhere in the system, but the preferred sites you select may not be available. If we cannot make your switch work we`ll contact you and let you know of options available.
The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board annually issues permits for canoe racks on Bde Maka Ska, Lake Harriet, Lake Nokomis, Cedar Lake , Brownie Lake, Ryan Lake, Wirth Lake, Lake Hiawatha and Lake of the Isles. If you're looking for river waters, Boom Island and Bohemian Flats offer racks along the Mississippi River.
Switch Rack Enrollment will officially open on January 2, 2023 at 8am and end February 28, 2023 at 4pm. If we cannot make your switch work we`ll contact you and let you know of options available (if any). You will receive a letter in the mail with your new decal and rack choice.
