Student Leader(s): Phoenix D. with parent volunteer Email: bim.hs.scibowl@gmail.com *End date is early February but the exact date is TBD High School Science Bowl team members research and study categories of: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Energy, Mathematics, and Physics. Categories are split/assigned to members per strength/interest. The team competes in the US Department of Energy National Science Bowl's knowledge competition on these topics, using a buzzer in quiz bowl format. Participation in Science Bowl strengthens and expands knowledge in STEM, promotes independent research/study and fosters collaboration. There is self-paced independent research/study. The season generally runs September to beginning of February with weekly team practices at school on Thursdays (or per mutual convenience of the team). The team's pivotal Regional Tournament is usually the first or second Saturday in February. Later advancement to Finals/Nationals is to be determined.
