Welcome future Coach to Winter Youth Volleyball 2023
Maricopa Team Sports has offered recreation youth sports for over 10 years and is proud to create a safe, fair, and fun sport environment that connects the community. With your help as a volunteer coach during this season, you will help develop player’s skills in teamwork, sportsmanship, game skills, and most importantly, have fun with other players in the local community.
Age Requirement Head Coaches must be at least 18 years old. Assistant Coaches must be at least 14 years old (must have an adult present at all times).
Location: Copper Sky Regional Park – 44345 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Maricopa, AZ 85138 and MUSD schools – TBD.
Game Format: 6 vs 6
Game Rules: Modified AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) volleyball rules.
Practice Days & Times: Depending on Coach's availability, two practices per week - Monday - Friday at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, or 7:30 pm.
Game Days & Times: Most game days are Saturdays, with a couple of weeknight games. Game Schedule will be completed by January 12, 2023.
Team Rosters: Distributed to Head Coaches once they are assigned to a team.
Coach Requests: Head Coach can request one Assistant Coach. One Head Coach and one Assistant Coach per team. Each Coach will be able to request their child. Assistant Coach requests must be submitted by December 24, 2022. Assistant Coaches must register as a Volunteer Coach.
First Practices: Week of January 9th, 2023.
Coach’s Shirts: One Coach’s Shirt will be provided to each Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
Uniform Hand-out: On or week of first game day.
First Game Day: Saturday, January 21st, 2023
Picture Day: Saturday, February 4, 2023. There will be no games this day.
Equipment: Coach’s kit will include volleyballs, air pump, and cones.
Coaching Credit: At the completion of the season, a $70.00 Coaching credit will be issued to each Head and Assistant Coach. Coaching credits will be entered onto each coach’s ActiveNet account. Coaching credits may be applied towards any future program provided by the City of Maricopa, including youth sports registration.
Coach Onboard Meeting: December dates to be announced. During this meeting we will cover Mission, Code of Conduct, Procedures, and Rules.
Background Check: Link will be sent in December and city will pay for this.
