Join us at Hiking Club and discover outdoor experiences! Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or new to the world of outdoor exploration, Hiking Club welcomes you to embark on a unique journey every time. Dressed for the weather (rain or shine) with close-toed shoes and a water bottle. Meet up with other Girl Scouts at this family-friendly afternoon hike. If Mother Nature cooperates, we will get to see a blanket of flowers covering the forest floor. Activities will include: Tour led by the Lombard Historical Society during Lilac Time Festival. "Visitors get insight into what makes Lilacia the special treasure it is, how it came to be, and learn about Lilacs along the way." Benefits: Physical Health: Hiking promotes physical fitness in a fun and engaging way for both adults and children. Mental Well-being: Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress and improve mood, contributing to overall mental health. Skill Development: Children develop resilience and problem-solving skills as they navigate trails and face the challenges of outdoor exploration. Flexible Attendance: We understand the demands of schedules. Although regular attendance is encouraged to maximize your learning and experience, it's not mandatory; each month stands alone with its own unique set of skills to learn and practice. This is a day event and does not include an overnight. No food is provided as part of this event. This program is designed for families, troops or individuals with an adult chaperone. This is NOT a drop off event. Please follow Girl Scout ratios from Safety Activity Checkpoints. A patch will be provided for registered youth participants.
