About this event
Your student will spend 6 weeks both in the classroom and on the water! The session will start with a 15 minute on land discussion called a Chalk Talk. The chalk talk will consist of a recap of what was discussed in the previous week and what will be covered that day. Tides, currents, and knots will also be discussed every week. Week 1: Orientation, Parts of Boat, Safety Week 2: Points of Sail, Tacking, Docking Week 3: Points of Sail Cont., Jibing, Docking Week 4: Rules of the Road, Sailing to a landmark Week 5: Performance sailing Week 6: Man Overboard Drills By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently sail Hoboken Sailing School's J80 sailboats in all positions (both crew and skipper) as a team.
