The Valor Offensive and Defensive Line Football Camp at Valor Christian High School (for Rising 6th, 7th and 8th grades) strives to provide intensive instruction for football players wishing to improve their overall skill level. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game of football with drill work and teaching from our highly qualified Valor Football Staff. This camp is for offensive and defensive lineman only. It consists of both on field work and two film study sessions for campers. All players must wear helmets and shoulder pads to camp each day, as there is a good amount of upper body contact. Players should be prepared for both a rigorous and fun experience. We are very proud of the fact that our campers return to their teams with a dynamic increase in their confidence to play the demanding positions of Center, Guard, and Tackle as well as Nose Guard, Defensive Tackle, and Defensive End. OFFENSE: Stance and Starts Drive Blocking Reach Blocking Second Level Blocking Combo Blocks Zone Blocking Pulling and Trapping Pass Protection Technique DEFENSE: Stance and Takeoff Block Destruction Escapes Pursuit Angles Gap Control Key Education Pass Rush Tackling Additionally, we will teach the core pillars of Valor’s football program and how we can all grow in the Fruits of the Spirit in our daily Christian walk. Come and join us for a glimpse into what it means to be a part of the Valor football family! Our coaches look forward to not only providing great football instruction, but also developing great relationships with our campers. What to Bring: Please bring your own helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey, cleats, mouth piece, and your own individually labeled water bottle. There are no leg pads required at this camp.
