About this event
Instructor: Kara Williamson Discover the beauty of imperfection in this hands-on Kintsugi class, inspired by the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Rather than hiding cracks, Kintsugi highlights them—transforming damage into a unique part of an object’s history and character. In this workshop, participants will learn the philosophy behind Kintsugi and explore accessible techniques for mending ceramic pieces using modern materials. Guided step-by-step, you’ll reassemble and restore a broken object, creating a one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates resilience, transformation, and mindful making. No prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided. Participants are welcome to bring a small broken ceramic item of their own or work with pieces supplied in class.
