> Virtual Reality and Coding: Adventures in VR Whether you're learning to operate some of the world's largest machinery from a classroom here in BC or practicing your skills before performing a rare surgery, VR is increasingly making the jump into real-world applications. In this course, students will explore all the basics of building their own VR environment and bringing it to life with coded animations. Students are encouraged to view and share their worlds through a variety of platforms, including on a laptop or Chromebook, a phone, or through Google cardboard. A laptop or Chromebook is required. No experience is required. > Arcade Game Development: Playful Platformers From Pong to Pacman and from Mario to Megaman, arcade games have introduced the world to countless iconic characters and styles of video games. In this educational program, students will learn coding basics through the context of building their own retro 2D video games. Whether it's sprites, pixels and controllers or loops, logic and conditionals, students will be developing key concepts while building a video game they can play and share. In order to develop a video game, students should bring or rent a laptop or Chromebook. No experience is required.
