About this event
Taught by women. Meant for women*. This Intro to Racing class is the next step for those participants who have taken at least 3 previous clinics (Wind, Women, & Water OR Adult Basic Keelboat). Come join us for an evening of fun beginner-friendly racing, go for a sail with a small group of other women, and see what sailboat racing is all about. This class will use Cherry Creek's Thursday Night Racing series (hosted by Denver Sailing Association) to model what real racing looks like, then our crew of women will navigate the same race course, using the same racing rules, right of way, and tactics to "walk the course" at a low-stress introductory pace. This is a great way to try out sailboat racing and get acquainted with the process. The class will end between 8:00pm and 8:30pm depending on the weather, race schedule, and available breeze. *And by women we mean anyone who is not cisgender male. Outside of that, everyone’s welcome 🙂
