About this event
With the rise of technology and overall wealth in this country people, particularly youngsters, are not learning some of the basic life skills that are necessary for self-sufficiency. In this wide overarching life abilities camp, kids will learn skills ranging from basic automobile maintenance, home repairs, simple cooking and sewing, to tool use and the application of basic math skills to rudimentary financial transactions. Each day will be dedicated to one of the topics from the aforementioned list of skills as kids engage in fun, hands-on activities drawn from each topic. Oh, as an added bonus, since these activities are likely to make messes, they will also learn how to clean up after themselves! Get ready to stand on your own two feet as we journey into the world of self-reliance. Learning to drive a stick shift has been a popular past activity in this class and will be repeated as we are able.
