Six IN-PERSON Sessions January 12, 19, 26, February 2, 9, 16 Instructors Lauren Price and Andy Waterman will introduce the world of podcasting to course participants. Each week a new facet of the Podcasting Universe will be explored with a specific focus on the podcast that Lauren and Andy launched called “Gainesville! Who Knew?” The history, technology, writing, producing, recording, editing, and distribution will all be covered during the 6-week course. For the final week, the class will be the featured guests of a new episode of “Gainesville! Who Knew?” **Each class will be held in the Umbrella Media studio in Gainesville. Participants will be forwarded address directions and specific parking information prior to the first class meeting. Andy Waterman and Lauren Price created "Gainesville! Who Knew?" as a way to learn more about Gainesville and its colorful history from the perspective of media industry professionals who were new to Georgia. Andy and Lauren have been a valued media production source for major publishing companies including Hal Leonard, Benchmark Education, and McGraw-Hill. Andy has been a music and video producer for 40 years, working on Hollywood shows such as Touched by an Angel and The Highlander, and feature films such as Married to the Mob and Victor Victoria. Lauren has been the manager of Umbrella Media for 20 years and has passionately pursued writing scripts and project development since joining forces with Andy in 2005.
