Program Registration for both the Emerging Choreographer's Workshop and the Brenau Summer Dance Intensive. The Emerging Choreographer’s Workshop is 5 days prior to the Brenau Summer Dance Intensive for interested high school and college dance choreographers to work on their craft in an open, exploratory and focused lab setting. A dance class in a different style or form will begin the day. Chosen choreographers and dancers will then take a daily class in choreographic technique and practice those skills in the afternoon while creating on dancers. Brenau faculty and guest teaching artists will be mentoring choreographers in their work during the intensive. Works will be presented in an informal setting Saturday June 3rd,in the evening in one of our performance spaces. Two choreographers will be chosen to present their works in a formal setting at the conclusion of the Brenau Summer Dance Intensive on June 17. 2023. Tuition: $250 Housing and Meal Plan: $300 Registration fee & Deposit: $100 The Brenau Summer Dance Intensive is two weeks of rigorous dance training from June 5-17, 2023. The program will focus on Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary technique supplemented by Ballroom, Variations, Pas de Deux, Yoga, Pilates, Men’s Class, Pointe, West African Dance, Nutrition for Dancers, and Repertory. During the two weeks, dancers will rehearse repertory and new works by established and emerging local and regional professional dance artists to be performed in a showcase at the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts on Brenau’s Historic Campus in Gainesville, Georgia, in the afternoon of Saturday, June 17, 2023. Students may choose to commute or live on campus. Commuting students will receive lunch daily which is included with their tuition. Residential students will receive meals daily. All classes will be held at Brenau East Studios: 1001 Chestnut Street, Gainesville, GA 30501, and the Brenau Fitness Center at 800 Washington St. SE Gainesville, GA 30501.
