Dates: Every Wednesday, with the first meeting on 8/31/22 and the last meeting on 4/26/23 Time: 4:10 - 5:10 Location: Upper School Classroom Grades: 9-11 Duration: Year-long Available Spaces: 12 Cost: $100 Description: Economics is the study of incentives and scarcity. Economics teaches students about how decisions are made, how markets work, how rules affect outcomes, and how economic forces drive social systems. All of these tools will equip students to make better decisions and solve real life problems, which translates to success in work and in life. In economics club, students will act out and analyze real life economic problems, read and write analysis for important economics events, learn about economic theory and literacy, and practice doing their own research. This club will also help members prepare for the National Economics Challenge, a prestigious economic competition. Meeting dates are negotiable if there are conflicts.
