Bachata Beginner/Intermediate 4-Week Series
McGaw Main Building 1000 Grove St Evanston, IL 60201 Organized by McGaw YMCAAbout this event
Description
We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Sunday, March 26, 2023.
Whether you have never danced before, or you have been dancing for the last 6-12 months, this class is for you! Beginners and intermediate dancers will be split within the same class to learn level-appropriate steps and become a better dancer at your own pace.
Straight from the Dominican Republic, also called the Island of "Quisqueya," Bachata surged in the United States in the late 80's and early 90's with the popularity of Juan Luis Guerra & 440. Since then, Bachata has become the most popular and commercial Latin rhythm of today. Currently, many hip-hop, pop and urban artists have made a Bachata remix for all of their hit songs to reach today's Latin dancing audience.
This 4-week series runs on Sundays at 4pm from March 5-26. FREE to members and $48 for non-members. Space is limited. Members registering must be able to commit to at least 3 of the 4 class dates.
