Encourage your children to use their imagination and creativity to explore this fascinating genre of Greek Mythology & Drama through reading and writing. In this course, students will be introduced to the magical world of Greek mythology and the dramatic stories that have captivated audiences for centuries. Students will learn about Greek gods and goddesses, heroes and monsters, and the epic battles and quests that are passed down through the ages. Students will have the opportunity to read and hear classic Greek myths, as well as moder retellings of these stories. In the second half of the semester, students will be introduced to the elements of dramas, including character setting, plot and conflict that create tension, climax and resolution. Students will also be encouraged to write their own stories, using myths, legends and drama as inspiration. At the end of the course, students complete their own writing portfolio, showcasing their newfound skills and creativity. They will also gain a deeper appreciation for the Greek mythology and the dramatic arts which have inspired generations of children.
