Who this is for: Current first graders and second graders who already have a foundation with reading fluency and are looking to strengthen foundational skills in reading comprehension, handwriting, sentence writing, and math content. The small group setting with a maximum of 5 students helps students improve work endurance, task initiation/engagement, and self-advocacy skills. Lesson plans are tailored for each individual student and frequent progress monitoring is used. Instruction includes, but is not limited the following: -71 Orton phonograms -Application of English rules to reading and spelling -Correct pencil grip and letter formation -Visualization strategies for improved listening and reading comprehension -Mental math strategies -Math content including, but not limited to: ---Place value ---Telling time ---Identifying coins/bills and working with money ---Word problems -**content is tailored to student’s specific level** Material fees are included in the total cost.
