Love animals? Love reading? Know what a banned book is? Delve into “Animal Farm”, a classic beast fable, in the form of a satirical fictional short novel by George Orwell. It tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Seems simple enough! So why was this book banned? You’ll find out as you read and discuss the books and why books are sometime banned. (Note: If your child is also registering for "A Hero's Journey" for grades 8-10 for the afternoon session, they are eligible to stay for a BYO (nut free) lunch period at no additional cost.) .
