About this event
The Introduction to Leadership Academy is designed to equip young middle school students with the practical skills necessary to be effective leaders who can lead themselves and others. Students will have fun in outdoor challenges and teambuilding at the Monastery with experienced facilitators. The focus will be on positive mindset, self-awareness, relationship skills, creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and community. Through a multitude of activities, students will use their newfound leaderships skills to benefit not only their own lives, but the lives of others by working on community service projects. Students will also learn the value of achieving these skills, how to strive to do their personal best, to be true to themselves and how to make a positive difference in their schools, clubs and communities. Students will also develop a more positive and open attitude towards new things that will improve their self-confidence and even public speaking skills. (Note: CLA students registered for "Communication Skills for Young Men, grades 6-9" in the afternoon are eligible to stay at OCYL for a BYO (nut free) lunch period at no additional cost.)
