DescriptionThis course introduces students to basic visual grammar of photographic seeing to explore and pursue diverse interests in photography while learning to become an acute observer. Using digital cameras with manual controls and RAW capture, students will learn the craft of making photographs while also being introduced to issues of aesthetic form, historical context, and diverse photographic practices. Students will gain experience in the darkroom, lighting studio in addition to digital facilities. Please note a mirrorless or DSLR camera is required for this course.
All Summer at Columbia students are automatically enrolled in a 1 credit hour Entrepreneurship for Creatives course in addition to the course listed above.
