About this event
Young Film Makers with Jeff Sweeton introduces youth to the intentional ways media can be used to present innovative techniques and cutting edge messages. Students will explore the 'three stages of film making' including pre-production, production and post-production and will work in groups to complete several short movies that leverage student-designed scripts, costumes and eTextiles, close and wide perspectives, studio lighting, hand drawn and computer generated animation, 'green screens' and off and online editing. Our primary focus will be making movies, but we'll also watch and discuss some award winning short films from around the world. While the class will present many differentiated paths for students to explore individually, we will use the techniques of 'performative science' first developed with Mut Theatre in Hamburg, Germany.
