Description
This presentation will cover the history and evolution of mills from the 17th - 20th centuries. Participants will learn about the importance of the earliest industry from sawmills and tanneries to lumber mills and evolution of grist mills for grinding crops from corn, oats, wheat and barley. The importance of textile mills in Ettrick and Matoaca will be shared.
