About This Activity
Theme: Music, Creativity, and Cultural Arts This week focuses on music, rhythm, and traditional arts. Campers will make their own instruments, learn about Gullah storytelling, and participate in a drumming workshop with African percussionists. They’ll also explore Palmetto Rose making, a traditional Gullah craft. On Thursday, we’ll take an excursion to Caw Caw Interpretive Center, where campers will experience hands-on history and participate in an indigo dyeing workshop. Key Activities: Instrument-making, African drumming workshop, Palmetto Rose craft, storytelling through rhythm, and an off-site learning experience.
