Dates: May 4 Instructor: Isa Rodrigues In this workshop, participants will be introduced to indigo dyeing with wax and paste based resists, to create work based on their vision. We will work with eco-friendly soy wax and experiment with different tools for mark-making, from traditional batik tjantings to brushes and stamps, to draw and create patterns on the fabric. The history and chemistry of the indigo vat, and how to develop multiple shades of blue will also be discussed. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision.
