The Point to Point event is the ultimate test of your physical determination and personal navigational skills. It is a 28km navigational “Point to Point” exercise and is conducted in the Brecon Beacons, starting and finishing at Beacons Reservoir, Grid Reference 98791802, 1:50,000 Map No 160 / 1:25,000 Map OL12.
Participants are given their first checkpoint location in the form of a six figure grid reference and subsequent checkpoint locations are communicated as participants reach each checkpoint. Participants are expected to use their map reading skills to locate and calculate the most efficient route to each location.
Please note that if you wish to enter this event under self-nav then you must either be able to have proof of your experience/skills or complete the map reading instruction on one of the Navigation Training weekends that are offered under the Land Navigation section of the website. ALL NEW 'GUIDED' TICKETIf Navigation isn't your bag or you don't have the time to book on to a Navigation course then you could choose the GUIDED option. This ticket will ensure you have the experience of Point to Point within a guided group led by our experienced DS Staff, Mountain Safety Team or guides. The group will potentially spilt into two groups depending on pace. The staff will be split between these groups to be sure that it challenges everyone's capabilities.
