In this class students will learn to have fun drawing, painting and adding fabric accent pieces…to create “Birds and Nature” artwork. Before class, start observing birds in the world around you as they enjoy the return of Spring and Summer in Kentucky. Look closely at pictures of birds in both photographs and paintings. (We don’t have to limit our subjects to local birds.) Feel free to sketch a few birds from your observations and then bring your bird books, pictures and sketches to class. Once you learn bird body basics you’ll want to draw them more and you’ll have so much fun using these techniques in future projects. The basic shapes used to create your bird will always be used but the possibilities for added artistic accents are endless. There are so many different beautiful birds that it will never be difficult to find inspiration for your work. Each student will leave the class with their own bird painting. Supplies for this class will be provided in the class kit. Minimum students required: 6
