About this event
Through hands-on activities, we will go over how to transfer skills from traditional art to digital mediums and discuss the benefits and challenges of these two types of mediums, along with ways to integrate them. Using Procreate as our main tool, we’ll go through several activities building skills and familiarity with the interface. This course will survey various approaches to digital illustration and include specific exercises focused on color, composition, texture, designing your own digital brushes, and defining your illustration style. We will also go over the logistics of illustrating for different contexts (print vs. web) and cover the basics of fine art printing (i.e. selecting paper types, using icc profiles). By the end of the course students will create three complete digital illustrations and go through the process of preparing these digital files for fine art printing.
