This 6-week online or in person program is designed to help you build the professional and digital skills needed for a variety of entry-level office careers including Administrative Assistant, Certified Medical Office Assistant, Bookkeeper and Customer Service Representative among other roles. In this hands-on course, you’ll learn: - Professional communication by email and phone - Essential Google Workspace skills, with an introduction to QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel - How to organize files, manage calendars, and support meetings - Resume writing and interview preparation - Real-world office tasks through simulations and projects - Workplace success skills through the WorkReady program, including teamwork, professionalism, problem solving, and communication Who should enroll? - Career changers - New graduates - Adults returning to the workforce - Anyone looking to build strong office and professional skills You’ll walk away with: - A polished resume - Real hands-on experience - Increased confidence in workplace technology and communication - The foundational skills needed to pursue a variety of office and administrative careers No previous office experience required. About the Instructor: Lauren Koncinsky is the Director of Adult Education for the Mount Desert Island region. With a background as an office administrator and extensive experience in recruiting and training administrative staff, she brings practical, real-world insight to her classes—making them both relevant and timely for today’s workforce.
