Saturdays, 10:00-11:30 AM • 2 weeks Ceramics Studio, MDI High School Instructor: Liz Keenan Craft personalized handmade ceramic ornaments to enjoy for years to come. Your creations could be utilized in a variety of ways; holiday tree ornaments, refrigerator magnets, wind chimes, etc. This beginner-friendly holiday workshop is designed to be fun, approachable, and accessible to students of all experience levels. Over two Saturday sessions, students will learn how to shape and texture clay to create unique ornaments. During the first class on November 21, 2026, you’ll make your ornaments using a variety of tools and decorative techniques. Your pieces will then be fired in the kiln. When you return on December 5, 2026, you’ll add color and finish your ornaments with glaze. The pieces will then go through a second kiln firing and be ready for you to pick up in time for the holiday decorating and gift giving season. This is a wonderful opportunity to try pottery in a relaxed setting and create meaningful holiday decorations or handmade gifts. No prior pottery experience is necessary. All materials and firing are included.
